How it Works

Your selected PDFs are read into browser memory, arranged in the order you choose, and combined on your device. Optional pre-merge compression may render pages as compressed images before the final PDF is created.

Why SleekPDF?

  • Local document processing: Your PDF contents are handled in browser memory instead of being sent to a document-processing server.
  • No Upload Waiting: Processing starts without first transferring the PDF to a document-processing server.
  • Order and size controls: Reorder every file and decide whether to preserve its original data or compress pages before merging.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does SleekPDF upload the PDFs I merge?

No. The selected PDFs are combined in browser memory and are not sent to a SleekPDF document-processing server. Normal webpage connections remain separate from the documents.

How many PDFs can I merge?

You can select between 2 and 20 PDFs, up to 100 MB per file and 250 MB combined. Browser memory may impose a lower practical limit on some mobile devices.

How is the page order decided?

All pages from the first file are added first, followed by every page from each later file. Use the arrow controls before merging to change the file order.

Should I compress before merging?

Leave compression off when forms, links, signatures, bookmarks, or maximum fidelity matter. Turn it on only when a smaller combined file is more important.

Will forms, bookmarks, and signatures survive merging?

Ordinary page content and order are preserved, but document-level bookmarks, forms, attachments, and signatures may not survive. Always review the result.

Simple and private

How to merge PDF files in three steps

Arrange documents, choose whether to compress them, and create one PDF without uploading the files.

  1. 1

    Add your PDFs

Select between 2 and 20 PDF files from your device.

  2. 2

    Arrange and optimize

Set the file order and optionally compress every document before merging.

  3. 3

    Merge and download

Create one PDF, download it, and review the page order before sharing.

Should I compress before merging?

Leave compression off when quality and interactive PDF features matter most. Turn it on when a smaller combined file is more important; balanced and maximum modes may rasterize pages or reduce image detail.
