How it Works

SleekPDF processes PDFs inside your browser for compression and merging. Selected documents are not uploaded to a SleekPDF file-processing server. Optional Balanced and Maximum compression may render pages as compressed images.

Why SleekPDF?

  • Local document processing: Your PDF contents are handled in browser memory instead of being sent to a document-processing server.
  • No Upload Waiting: Processing starts without first transferring the PDF to a document-processing server.
  • Flexible controls: Choose compression quality, arrange merge order, and optionally compress documents before combining them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are my files uploaded to a server?

SleekPDF does not upload PDF contents to a document-processing server. Compression and merging run in your browser. The site may still connect to hosting, analytics, and advertising services for normal webpage delivery.

Is there a file size limit?

The compressor supports one PDF up to 100 MB. The merger supports up to 20 PDFs, with a maximum of 100 MB per file and 250 MB combined.

Will the compression reduce my document's text readability?

Balanced and maximum compression can change image quality and may rasterize page content. Lossless mode avoids intentional image-quality reduction, but every downloaded file should still be reviewed against the original.

Is SleekPDF free to use?

Yes. SleekPDF does not require an account or subscription. The site may display advertising after its advertising account is approved.

Will merging preserve forms, links, and bookmarks?

SleekPDF preserves ordinary page content and order, but some interactive features, document-level bookmarks, signatures, or forms may not survive merging or pre-merge compression. Always review the result.

Simple by design

How to compress a PDF in three steps

SleekPDF keeps the workflow short while giving you control over the tradeoff between file size and visual quality.

  1. 1

    Choose your PDF

Drag a PDF into the compressor or select one from your device. Files up to 100 MB are supported.

  2. 2

    Select a compression mode

Use Lossless for structural optimization, Balanced for everyday documents, or Maximum for the smallest result.

  3. 3

    Download and review

Compare the file sizes, download the compressed PDF, and check it against your original before sharing.

Which PDF compression level should I choose?

Start with Balanced for email, forms, presentations, and general sharing. Choose Lossless when preserving the original structure matters most. Choose Maximum when file size is the priority and lower image detail is acceptable.

Simple and private

How to merge PDF files in three steps

Arrange documents, choose whether to compress them, and create one PDF without uploading the files.

  1. 1

    Add your PDFs

Select between 2 and 20 PDF files from your device.

  2. 2

    Arrange and optimize

Set the file order and optionally compress every document before merging.

  3. 3

    Merge and download

Create one PDF, download it, and review the page order before sharing.

Should I compress before merging?

Leave compression off when quality and interactive PDF features matter most. Turn it on when a smaller combined file is more important; balanced and maximum modes may rasterize pages or reduce image detail.
